The Alameda Creek Regional Trail is a perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts. Following the banks of Alameda Creek, the trail stretches from Niles Canyon westward to the San Francisco Bay, a total distance of 12 miles. The trail on the south bank gives way to Coyote Hills Regional Park. There are paved paths for bicyclists, hikers, joggers and runners with the north side allotted for horseback riding. Alameda Creek is the largest creek found in Alameda County and is home to a host of birds and wildlife, once providing valuable resources to the Ohlone Indians who first settled there.

Located within Stanford University is the Cantor Arts Center. Visitors can browse various art collections presented in 24 galleries including sculpture gardens, terraces, and a courtyard. Diverse collections found within the Center include artwork from over 4000 years encompassing world culture with some 25,000 objects on display, including the largest collection of Rodin bronzes outside Paris with nearly 100 contemporary sculptures located outdoors throughout the campus. Presenting a wide range of important changing exhibitions, docent tours, lectures, gallery talks, symposia, and classes, “the Cantor Arts Center is a cultural hub for the community and a teaching resource for Stanford University.”
